The concept of shoving bits of absorbent material up one’s vagina in order to prevent it from bleeding all over is not a modern one. The ancient Egyptians and Greeks were the first to document tampon usage—cause hey, they wrote about pretty much everything, but I’m betting that from the beginning of time women everywhere have been dealing with this situation in the same way.
